worth buying an established trucking business?

no idea/experience how to operate a freight company, but do run a car auto business. Taking logistics classes and management, but don’t think that is related to trucking long hauls or transportation. My goal is to own a freight business and was thinking about buying an established one. I have the funds and can also get a SBA loan or some sort.

I strongly encourage you to find a job in the industry and gain personal knowledge before making a major investment. It is a VERY competitive business and critical that that trucks be loaded going both directions. There are companies that specialize in filling trucks on the return trip that can help.

The equipment is very expensive, good maintenance is critical and “good” truck drivers are difficult to find.
