How do I make font background transparent so when I put it in front of a image, I won’t see white surround it?

I have Microsoft Word and Paint. For an image, I want the font from Word to have a transparent background so when I paste it into Paint onto an image, I won’t see white surrounding my text. Please make it simple to understand…

When you paste the font into paint it automatically gives it the solid background property. When you paste the image in it will be selected and in the toolbar on the left you will see a picture of a cylinder, circle and a square with a solid background selected. Click on the one below with the transparent background and that should solve your problem!
