Empire Earth

Looking for a game similar to Empire Earth?

I’m after a game (on PC) that’s similar to Empire Earth, where you start in the early ages and advance to more modern technology…. Sort of like a cross between SimCity (I guess) and Age of Empires.
Any suggestions? =)

Civilization 4, but its turn based if you don’t mind that.

Anno 1404 if you don’t mind having the focus being on city building rather than actual combat.
