How do I remove a program without the CD?
I had the following CD Math Blaster: Ages 9-12 (TM)
version 1.0 for Windows® 95
My kids grew older than 12 and stopped playing this game so we donated it to Goodwill.
Now I’m getting a message in my computer that I’m running out of space so I started cleaning up… but ran into trouble when I realized I need the disk in order to uninstall the game above. It has an uninstall on the CD.
So I went to the system task (add/remove programs) and when I click on remove on this program I get a message as follows;
<
Then it say <
What do you suggest?
We have Microsoft Windows XP
Version 5.1.2600
Thank you.
If you do not have the uninstall program and you can’t use add/remove programs, you could do it the old fashioned way. Find the folder with the program files, data files should be in a sub folder, all this should be in c:program files… , simply delete the folder. NOTE: this wil not remove any registry or pre fetch (.pf) files. The pre-fetch file (if it has one) can be found by searching for *.pf then look for the corresponding file it should have the same name as the program file or something similar you’ll just have to look. And finally your registry can be updated (do this last) by running a good registry cleaner (your choice there are about a thousand out there).
